The space as a whole
First give yourself a moment to take in the proportions of the interior. Then you can turn your attention to the vault painting ‘Het Laatste Oordeel’ (The Last Judgement) and the organs. Looking at the whole helps to place such elements in their setting.
Old and new art
Fiona Tan’s Grote Raam (Great Window) and temporary art presentations add different accents. Read how a work is presented in the church. That way you can consciously look at the differences between historical furnishings and a later artistic addition.
A calendar instead of fixed days
Summer opening, autumn days and events follow different timetables. Outside the regular visiting times, a guided tour by appointment may be possible. A concert ticket, moreover, gives a different kind of visit from free viewing.
