Exploring unfamiliar concepts
These subjects often need explaining. Start with the introduction in a room and choose one concept to follow further. Images from rare books offer a visual way in, but without context they do not tell you what their makers meant by them.
Different spaces
Besides exhibitions, there is a reading room and the Graalkamer (Grail Room), among other spaces. The reading room offers a different kind of visit from looking at images. Ask which spaces are accessible on your day, as activities can affect the layout and access.
Stairs and variable hours
The historic building has no lift and is not wheelchair accessible. The museum may also open later or close earlier for a private event. Book if possible and check the current calendar before travelling to the Keizersgracht.

Check for events and be prepared for several flights of stairs; payment is by bank card or credit card only.
