Choose your venue first
Amsterdam in Motion at Westergas uses a scale model of the city and interactive presentations. Huis Willet-Holthuysen on the Herengracht, by contrast, offers a canal house as its setting. Both belong to the museum, but they give a very different experience.
Different subjects and routes
A scale model lets you look at Amsterdam as a whole. A historic residence draws attention to rooms, residents and furnishings. Choose the way in that appeals to you, then look at the current programme of that location.
No shared weekly schedule
The locations have their own opening times and ticket rules. Amsterdam in Motion requires a time slot; for the house, follow its own visitor information. A general address or an old museum schedule is therefore not enough to set out with.
Before you go
Do not go to the Burgerweeshuis or Amstel 51 for museum admission; select a current location and the matching ticket.
