A ship model and a painting depict the same subject in different ways. The collection presentation leaves room to compare construction, scale and imagery.

The ship Amsterdam is a replica, not an original VOC ship. The tour can help you picture the spaces on board; ask about access to the different parts.

Check public holiday closures and group arrangements. The library has its own hours; accessibility of the museum building does not automatically mean that every space on the ship can be reached.
