A name such as inquisition chair or guillotine instantly conjures up an image. Read the dating, region and authenticity status before you assume that the piece on display was actually used in history.
Image source and reality
Engravings may be propaganda, a warning or a later depiction. Compare an image with the object label and ask what evidence supports the link between the two.
Late opening, heavy content
The small museum stays open until 23.00, but explicit themes call for calm viewing. Younger visitors and sensitive groups should judge for themselves in advance whether it is suitable.
