A different floor plan
A houseboat has different proportions from a house on the street. Notice the length of the space, the connection between rooms and the position of the windows. This makes the ship’s shape a concrete part of living.
The ship remains visible
Besides the domestic interior, you can see parts that refer to the former ship. In the bow, riveted steel plates are visible, and the rear space refers to a skipper’s quarters. Photos and models provide further background.
Going on board
Access is via steps. Ask in advance about the options if climbing stairs is difficult for you. You buy tickets on board; groups of more than ten people must register in advance. Longer opening hours apply in July and August.
