Pottery and carpets
Velsen pottery (Velser aardewerk) and Kinheim carpets give the collection two distinct types of material. Look at the patterns and finish and read about the local background that goes with them. This links design to a product and to the region where it originated.
Other sides of Kennemerland
Rhetoricians’ blazons, toys and skates broaden the picture. The archaeological and industrial subjects in turn set other layers of time side by side. An open storage display case also gives an impression of collecting beyond a single, clearly defined exhibition story.
A limited number of days
The museum opens on Wednesday afternoons and at weekends. An appointment may be needed for library or research questions. Follow the route information when you arrive: the museum address and the parking directions use different street names.
