A find is more than just old
Pottery shards, wood and metal each call for a different way of looking. Pay attention to the find spot and the explanation of how an object was used. That way you can link a small fragment to a larger subject without filling in missing parts of the story yourself.
People alongside the objects
The human figures give the presentation a different scale. See how they are explained together with the finds and which reconstruction choices the museum explains. Temporary exhibitions also add their own subjects to the permanent collection.
Next to the station
The museum is right by Castricum station. Booking is required for school groups and guided tours; individual visitors do not normally need to book. Additional Monday openings follow the school holidays of the northern region (regio Noord), while public holidays and work being carried out can lead to changes.
