Old sea charts can be viewed both as carriers of information and as designed objects. Pay attention to place names, lines and symbols, and ask how the chart was used. Temporary art exhibitions also make for a changing programme.
A weekend visit
The museum is free to visit during the announced weekend afternoons. The entrance is between the stated building numbers on Rechtestraat. Check the calendar for holiday breaks and the seasonal timetable, so that you do not wrongly assume an ordinary Saturday is an opening day.
