In an assemblage you can sometimes recognise parts that previously had a different function. Look at the whole first and then at the materials used. The difference between those two ways of looking is what makes the new composition interesting.
Forms without detours
The geometric art offers a different way of looking from the beach assemblages. Pay attention to proportions, lines and repetition. Ask about the working method if a work appeals to you; the makers’ own work forms the permanent presentation.
A gallery in a house
The venue on Burgwal can be visited free of charge during the stated hours or by appointment. It is also a place where art is offered for sale. Of course, a visit to look does not oblige you to buy; take your time with what is on display.
