A ship is not just a large structure but also an environment in which people work. When visiting, pay attention to the layout and how the spaces relate to each other. Ask which functions are visible and how the exhibition explains them.
Indoor presentations too
The interactive exhibitions and family activities offer different ways in from the ships themselves. Check the calendar and choose which parts suit your group. It helps to divide your time between looking around on board and getting background in the museum rooms.
Access by section
Not every ship has the same physical route as a museum building. So ask in advance about access if climbing stairs or narrow passages are a concern. From November to April, ordinary Mondays are closed, with exceptions during school holidays.

Check access to the ships and the winter timetable; the museum being open does not tell you everything about every route.
