A landscape with traces
The Tijdskompas (Time Compass) links various subjects from the surrounding area. See how the terpen, the Westfriese Omringdijk (West Frisian ring dyke) and ’t Huys te Nuwendore are placed in the story. This gives the village more background than just what you see in the street.
Living and leaving
The day labourer’s cottage offers a domestic scale, while the emigration story of the Eenigenburg family leads all the way to the United States. Give both parts attention: they raise different questions about living in a place and leaving it.
A Sunday in the season
Regular opening is on Sunday afternoons from May to September. Another contact listing gives October as the end, so have an autumn visit confirmed. Outside the regular hours, visits and groups may be possible by appointment.
