A find often shows only part of a larger whole. The scale model of the old abbey can help you understand its space and layout. Look at how the explanations link material from the ground with the building as it is depicted.
Books and documents
Written material offers yet another way in than architecture or archaeology. Temporary exhibitions can give extra attention to a particular period or subject. Check what is currently on if you are coming for a specific aspect of the abbey’s history.
Museum admission is not a tour of the monastery
The museum and shop have their own visitor address on the Vennewatersweg. A guided tour must be arranged separately; a drop-in session is mentioned for Saturday. Follow the access rules, so that a museum visit is not confused with free access to the whole abbey.
