Walking through the village
In the outdoor section, buildings, craftspeople and role players offer a spatial way into the past. See which activities are being demonstrated and read the explanations at the houses. Take time to explore the whole rather than just ticking off individual activities.
Ships and exhibitions
The Schathuys offers, among other things, a Schepenhal (Ship Hall) and temporary displays. This indoor section can complement a visit to the village, but can also be a destination in its own right. The exhibition calendar determines which additional subjects are on show at the time.
Two seasonal arrangements
The village closes after 25 October 2026 until the following spring. The Schathuys remains open all year, with a few public holiday closures. When choosing your ticket, check which parts you want to visit and what access is possible on your chosen date.

Especially after October, check which part is open; year-round opening applies to the Schathuys, not the village.
