Looking at the interior
Period rooms call for attention to how walls, ceiling and furnishings work together. Use the explanations to understand the function of the rooms rather than just looking at individual decorations.
New art in the same house
The Dreef exhibitions focus on modern art by artists from North Holland. Their changing programme can add a different perspective to the historic interior; check in advance which display is on.
Requesting a guided tour
Guided visits are offered on request. They provide an opportunity for more explanation but must be arranged separately; free access does not mean a guide is ready every day.
Before you go
Use the visitor entrance on the Dreef and the weekday opening hours. The provincial offices elsewhere have different hours; confirm a guided tour or group visit in advance.
