A room as a whole
Look not only at recognisable objects, but also at how together they form a living space. The placement of furniture and everyday items can raise different questions from a single display case.
A family as a framework
The house offers a clearly defined family story. Take the explanations as your starting point and treat recognition from your own surroundings as a comparison, not as proof that everyone lived the same way.
A small time slot
Few visitors are admitted per hour and the visit lasts no more than an hour. That makes booking in good time and arriving on time part of the experience.
Before you go
A start time is compulsory, even with a Museumkaart (Dutch museum pass). The house is not wheelchair accessible; check the conditions and the limited Friday and Saturday opening in advance.
