The staircase, hallway and bel-étage show how moving through the house became part of its display of status. Compare the woodcarving and stucco work at different heights.
A home became a town hall
From 1814 the building had a public function; the monk statue and the Minerva head are associated with that phase. Keep the construction date and later alterations apart.
