Compare the beam, pan and counterweight of two instruments. Look at range and accuracy, and ask which trade or user they were intended for.
Verification creates trust
In the verification office, a measuring instrument is tested against a standard. Follow the stamp, the standard weight and the records, and see why a single incorrect measure has economic consequences.
The weigh house as a workplace
The location links the collection with the town’s trade. Look at doors, floors and space for goods, and ask which later fittings were added for the museum.
