Living amid the work
The subject shows how living and weaving were combined in one setting. The furnishings with several looms make that relationship easy to picture in space. It is a reconstructed display, not a historical household that has remained unchanged.
Cloth as a work process
Weaving sailcloth and windmill sailcloth are among the Wevershuis’s demonstration subjects. Watching a loom can help you understand the relationship between thread and cloth. During the current closure, however, this is not an available visitor programme.
Wait for the reopening first
Other museum guides sometimes still show a normal weekly schedule. That conflicts with the explicit temporary closure in the Schans information. Only plan this workshop once the manager announces a new opening, even if other Schans venues are open.
