A complete farmstead
The farmhouse, Saxon barn, cart shed, spieker (granary) and hay barrack show that storage and work were spread out. Follow one product – grain, vegetables or hay – from building to building.
Bread oven and horse gin
The cookhouse with its bread oven is about food; the horse gin (geubel) is about mechanical drive. Compare how fire and mechanical motion each organise work, and what safety clearance was needed.
Garden, field and animals
The herb garden, vegetable garden and orchard, together with the field crops, place household goods alongside production. In season, look at which plants are actually growing, and distinguish live demonstration from historical explanation.
Before you go
Regular visits are seasonal. Public holidays, the autumn school holidays and theme days have separate hours; groups can arrange a visit outside the season.
