From flax to cloth
The permanent display follows the raw material, the yarn and the fabric. Compare flax, the semi-finished product and finished cloth, and note how much preparation comes before the actual weaving.
Six looms in use
Volunteers weave cotton and half-linen and demonstrate warping, setting up the loom and inserting the weft. See how pattern and thread tension are prepared even before the first beat.
Trade visible in the house
The bell gable and the original hoist recall storage and transport. Follow an imaginary bundle of linen from the loft to the salesroom and the street.
Before you go
The looms are in use almost every day, but not guaranteed at every moment. Check closures on public holidays and ask in advance whether a weaver will be present.
