Three kilns at the core
Look at the opening, the body of the kiln and the loading route, and ask where fuel, shells and the end product moved. The scale makes continuous high-temperature firing imaginable.
Return cargo by water
Shells came back on boats that carried peat. Set that logistical link beside the peat boat and avoid a stand-alone industrial story.
Slaking house and gas holder
The local history room, the children’s exhibition and the mini-theatre broaden the site’s scope to Avereest. Check which display is currently running and which space originally had a different function.

The seasonal schedule has five afternoons a week. Open Monumentendag (Heritage Day) may bring longer hours and free admission. Ask in advance which buildings and displays are accessible.
