MORE Twickel: Jan Mankes between estate and woodland

The new MORE location at Twickel opened in September 2026 with a permanent Mankes display and ‘Into the Woods’.

Plan your visit ↗

Nearly thirty works by Mankes

Landscapes, animals, still lifes and portraits come from the museum’s own collection and from loans. Compare two genres for light and stillness rather than for subject alone.

Into the Woods

Until March 2027, contemporary artists approach woodland and landscape. See which works depict the surroundings and which use material from nature or natural processes.

Oude Rentmeesterij (former estate steward’s house)

The venue on the Twickel estate connects the indoor display with an outdoor route. Do not plan on free access to every part of the estate; follow the museum’s and the estate’s directions separately.

Before you go

The museum has only been open since 12 September 2026. The programme, visitor route and holiday hours may still change; parking at the visitor centre is recommended.
