Living and working together
The display focuses on the daily life and work of town farmers. Look at how rooms and objects are explained. According to the museum, which activities belonged to the house, and which needed space outside it?
Explanation with the objects
Volunteers give guided tours. Use the opportunity to ask what task an unfamiliar implement was used for. It is often easier to understand a task than to remember a list of old names.
Images alongside the tour
Film is part of what is described and can add to the story of the farm. Compare what you see in it with an object or room you have just looked at. An image provides context, while a real object reveals other details.
Before you go
In 2026 the Saturday season runs until 17 October. Groups can make an appointment outside those hours.
