From early computer to console

Compare the controls, picture and sound of two generations. Look at which technical limitation shaped a game’s design before relying on nostalgia alone.

Arcade hall in action

Arcade cabinets call for a different posture and social space than home consoles. Note the cabinet’s shape, the buttons, and how bystanders can follow the play.

New alongside historic

Recent hardware, including a Nintendo Switch 2, is also mentioned. Use that contrast to explore continuity in controls and game design.

Before you go

Visitors up to and including sixteen years old must be accompanied. The venue is wheelchair-friendly, but according to the visitor information does not yet have an accessible toilet.
