An archive as a starting point
Archive material can show a city differently from a walk alone. In the exhibition, look at the relationship between a document, an image and the place it concerns. That combination helps make familiar names more concrete.
A changing window on Utrecht
The Expo is the public venue for exhibitions, with subjects from a long urban history. Check the current programme beforehand if you are looking for a specific period. The building itself also provides a historic setting of its own for your visit.
Telling the Expo and reading room apart
The exhibition hours are not the same as the opening hours of a reading room. Wheelchair users are directed to a different entrance and contact in advance is recommended, partly because of possible lift problems. Arrange this before you set off.
