A find as a beginning
An excavated object gains meaning from the place and circumstances in which it was found. So look at the explanation as well as the object. In this way the museum offers a means of approaching a vanished environment through concrete remains.
The place as a whole
The scale model gives a different perspective from a small find. Use it to see how the museum presents Dorestad and then make connections with the other parts of the display. Stories complement the material with an accessible route through the subject.
Together with the VVV
The museum shares its opening hours with the VVV (tourist information office) in the building on the Markt. A side entrance is mentioned for wheelchairs and rollators; there is a lift. Check Sundays and public holidays, as shorter or different visiting times apply then.
Before you go
Check the opening hours tied to the VVV and, with a wheelchair or rollator, use the indicated side entrance.
