Start with the question of what has to happen before flax becomes linen. At each tool, see which task goes with it. This creates a route through the subject, even if the names of the tools and processes are new to you.
Arranging a demonstration
Demonstrations of traditional flax processing are offered. Ask in advance when they take place and how you can take part. An exhibition about the Sint Andries flax retting works adds a different context to the work explained in the shed.
Telling shop and museum apart
Maison du Lin is also a shop selling linen products. The shop hours do not automatically apply to the museum behind it all year round. The museum season runs from May to the end of September; guided tours for groups of six or more are possible by appointment over a longer period.
