Following a system
A pump does not work independently of its drive and the water around it. Ask for the connections to be shown during the explanation, so that the moving parts become an understandable whole.
Choosing a running day
Demonstrations are limited to announced days. The specific calendar matters more than a general mention of a weekend in the month, because special openings may differ.
The boiler house too
A meeting space and explanations about keeping feet dry and high water are mentioned. After looking at the technology, these make it possible to discuss the wider function of a pumping station as well.
Before you go
Check the date and times directly in the calendar. Discuss access to the machine area in advance and follow staff instructions during demonstrations.
