Boekdruk Museum really sets the presses in motion

In Drukkerij RAD, this working museum shows how printed matter was made using the machines and manual operations of the last century’s graphic industry.

Machine becomes process

Look beyond the metal and follow the paper, ink and printing run. Ask what task the operator performs and where an error becomes visible.

Letters demand craftsmanship

Typesetting, positioning and printing make clear why typography is also physical work. Compare a proof with the final sheet.

Working heritage

The machines run during demonstrations. Keep your distance where asked and listen to the rhythm and mechanics: the sound tells you a lot about the order of production.

Before you go

Open on the first and third Saturday of the month 09.00–12.00, strictly by prior registration on 078-6213882. The museum information says wheelchair access is possible. When booking, confirm the demonstration, duration and access, as older sources give longer hours.
