Compare the drawing room, kitchen and bedroom in terms of furnishings and circulation. Ask which objects were used every day and which mainly expressed status or taste.

The toy collection shows how miniatures and play imitate the adult world. Choose one piece and look at its material, wear and scale.

The interior also speaks of Van Gijn’s choices as a collector. Distinguish between original furnishings, later additions and museum reconstruction.
Before you go
Open Wednesday–Sunday 11.00–17.00; closed on Monday and Tuesday. New Year’s Day, King’s Day and Christmas Day are closing days; on New Year’s Eve it closes at 16.00. The list of public holidays includes a possible deviation around 5 May. The house is only partly wheelchair accessible.
