Choose one person or event and follow the photo, document and caption. Distinguish between testimony, object information and later museum interpretation.
Objects need context
A uniform, weapon or Willys Jeep quickly draws attention. Ask who used it, when it entered the collection and what is still uncertain.
Scale model beside film
Compare the spatial information in a scale model with the time and movement in film footage. Note which medium explains an event most clearly.
Before you go
Open Wednesday–Saturday 11.00–16.00; closed on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday is for groups and schools only, by appointment. The museum has several public holiday and occasional closures. There is no lift, so discuss accessibility in advance and check the current list of closures.
