Look at the vault, wall thickness and passages before judging the café interior. Ask which parts belong to the original fortification and which were added later.
From gun emplacement to café
Its current function shows how military heritage is being reused. Compare the open space, sheltered spots and the route to the town ramparts.
Wine museum or café
Older museum listings suggest a wine museum, while the current website mainly describes a café and a Caponnière that can be visited. Do not expect a documented wine collection without confirmation.
Before you go
Walk-in during café hours: Thursday 09.00–16.00, Friday 09.00–19.00 and Saturday and Sunday 12.00–19.00; closed Monday–Wednesday. According to the current website, you are welcome to look around without ordering anything. Check in advance whether the fortification spaces are accessible.
