With Roman material, the find site, dating and archaeological context matter more than shape alone. Read labels closely and note any words expressing uncertainty.
Before you go
A municipal document lists opening on Tuesday 08.00–12.00, Friday 09.00–12.00 and Saturday 13.00–16.30, plus by appointment. Older listings differ and the museum’s own website did not offer a reliable schedule. So phone before you set off; admission is free, with a voluntary contribution.
