A sign to wear
A pin can refer to an organisation, an event or a personal interest. Look at image, text and shape, and ask what background is known for the object. The small size calls for particular attention to detail.
Comparing within a theme
By comparing a few pins from the same group, you see which elements recur and what differs. Medals and emblems add other formats and functions. It is better to go through a few themes at leisure than to glance at everything.
Check your visit in advance
The published schedule lists Wednesday and Friday afternoons and Saturday. The hours are available mainly through visitor guides, so confirm a specially planned visit directly. Outside those times an appointment may be possible.
Before you go
Check current hours and public holidays with the museum, especially if you are coming from further afield.
