Connecting indoors and outdoors
The historic herb field and the bulb borders make the grounds part of the visit. See how the subjects outside connect with the explanations inside. What is growing and on view depends partly on the time of the season.
Attention to the farm
The cowshed and the educational display add work on the farm. Give the subject of Blaarkop cattle attention too, alongside the better-known flower bulbs. That way you avoid the region becoming merely the backdrop to a flower outing.
A seasonal museum
Regular museum visits are possible at weekends from April to September. This is followed by the winter closure. A separate activity, such as a bulb sale, does not automatically mean that the whole museum is open. Groups of ten people or more can arrange a guided tour.
