Look at how the furniture and layout relate to each other. The whole can tell you more about the chosen furnishings than a single chair or cupboard; take in the transitions between rooms too.
Listening and looking
Use the audio tour to look at details again. An explanation about a room can shift your attention to something that previously seemed mainly part of the background.
Combining with the institute
Huis Sonneveld is linked to Het Nieuwe Instituut and can be visited with a combination ticket. On Thursdays, however, the house closes earlier than the institute itself.
Before you go
The house is not wheelchair or pushchair friendly. Ask about the digital alternative on the ground floor and do not assume Het Nieuwe Instituut’s Thursday evening opening applies.
