The locomotive as a system
Look at the boiler, drive and couplings before the train departs. Ask which locomotive is running that day and what can be seen of the maintenance.
The station sets the rhythm
Timetable, platform and carriage together form the experience. Arrive well before departure and distinguish the museum opening from the separate train times.
The outdoor museum takes time
Rolling stock and the yard are spread out. Leave time between rides for the collection and, on theme days, check which extra sections are accessible.
Before you go
Only open on days in the timetable calendar. On operating days the museum is open 10.30–17.00 and the ticket office closes at 16.30. After 27 September 2026 the calendar must be checked again. Booking is compulsory for several theme days.
