Compare façade, room size and walking route, and ask how classical proportions are demonstrated in the explanation. Avoid inventing proportional relationships of your own.
The garden as design
Look at the sightlines from the house and the path. Season and maintenance change the view, but the spatial layout remains useful as a line of enquiry.
