Translating for an audience
The Statenvertaling is central, but older editions such as Deux-aesbijbels provide context. Only compare a passage when the display clearly states the edition and printing.
Bookmakers at work
Type, paper, illustration and binding make each Bible a physical object. Look for traces of printing and use, and ask how maps were included in an edition.
Influence on language
The display also discusses its lasting influence on Dutch language and culture. Note down one concrete word or expression with a sourced explanation, rather than assuming a general influence.
Before you go
There are no fixed Wednesday or Saturday hours: both individuals and groups must make an appointment with the custodian in advance.
