Museum Prinsenhof Delft: closed, but not gone
The historic museum building has been closed for renovation since January 2025. Until the expected reopening in 2028, an information point and a programme outside the rooms remain.

Museum Prinsenhof Delft is closed in October 2026 because of renovation. The closure began on 5 January 2025. The building was once a monastery and later served as the court of William of Orange. The municipality expects a reopening in 2028.
According to its own site, the museum tells stories from three themes: William of Orange, Delft Blue and Delft Masters. These subjects belong to the history of Delft and the Prinsenhof. The municipality calls the Prinsenhof one of the most important monuments of Delft and places it in the Top 100 of monuments.

The city council gave definitive approval to the plans in February 2024. According to the municipality, the restoration and renovation cost €48.1 million. Burgy Bouwbedrijf from Leiden is carrying out the work.
During the closure, according to the municipality, masterpieces from the collection are temporarily on view in other museums in the Netherlands.
