De Hemel: from brewing kettle to tasting glass

In the cellars of the Commanderie, a museum visit centres on a booked guided tour through brewing, distilling, vinegar and mustard.

Plan your visit ↗

Brewing in the cellar

Kettles, pipes and casks make the production steps visible. Ask how malt, water, hops and yeast move through the installation and which parts are actually running during a tour.

More than beer

Spirits, vinegar and mustard broaden the story to other fermentation and processing methods. Compare raw material, time and technique without treating them as a single production line.

Tasting after the explanation

The standard tour lasts about ninety minutes and includes six beers. Smaller parties book fixed weekend times; groups of ten or more can arrange other days.

Before you go

There is no reliable free-walk-in museum schedule. A guided tour must be booked; extra Sunday and evening slots apply only in high season.
