Over de grens looks at crime in Limburg
More than twenty people tell the Limburgs Museum about their connection to crime. Their video interviews range from experiences of detention to the work of the police and morbid curiosity.

The exhibition Over de grens – Criminaliteit in Limburg (Across the Border – Crime in Limburg) is built on conversations. A psychologist, former prisoners, victims and bereaved relatives, and police officers have their say.
The interviews deal with a range of questions: why are people morbidly curious, what is it like to be locked up, and how does police work operate in a border region?

Historical subjects are covered too, including smuggling, IRA attacks and the Bokkenrijders. According to the museum, objects and sources on these themes are shown together to the public for the first time.
The Limburgs Museum recommends the exhibition for ages twelve and up. In addition, on Tuesday 27 October there is the evening Niemandsland at Filmtheater De Nieuwe Scène, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. A ticket costs €15 and also gives access to the exhibition.
Over de grens can be seen in Venlo until 3 January 2027. Video interviews with more than twenty people form the core of the exhibition.
